National Rankings for Older Adults’ Health: Where Does Your State Stand?

America's Health Rankings Senior Report for 2017 identified many current challenges facing older adults, such as a decrease in support for individuals living in poverty, an increase in food insecurity, and an increase in the prevalence of obesity over the past year. On the other hand, the report also found improvements in several clinical care and health outcomes measures. Since 2013, hospital readmissions for people over 65 have decreased by 7%, hospital deaths have decreased by 30%, and hip fracture hospitalizations have decreased by 21%.
