Medicare and Medicaid participating facilities will be required to complete training for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) new Emergency Preparedness Final Rule by the time the rule becomes effective on November 15, 2017, CMS announced. To help organizations prepare, CMS released information on March 24, 2017, about the testing and training requirements that must be met. This includes "full-scale, community-based exercises" with state and local emergency agencies, CMS said.
