​The average cost of a one-bedroom assisted-living apartment in Washington, DC, is almost double the national average, making it the most expensive assisted-living area in the country, according to new data released by the consultant group LTCG. The average single-bedroom assisted-living apartment in Washington, DC, costs more than $97,000 annually—on par with the national nursing home private room average cost of $97,612 and significantly higher than the national assisted-living single-bedroom average of $50,940.
