CMS Report Evaluates Measures Used in Quality Assessment, Finds Link between Facility Resources and Performance

​The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released its 2015 National Impact Assessment of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Measures Report; such assessment and publication is mandated every three years. The 2015 report assesses 25 CMS programs with data from 2006 to 2013. Key findings of the report include levels of "measure use"—adoption, reach, and implementation of measures by providers and within healthcare populations. The report found improved coverage; however, gaps do remain in measure coverage across all domains.
