​Home care is a fast-growing segment of healthcare. However, home care poses unique risk exposures to clients and staff. Clients typically have multiple conditions, often both acute and chronic, and self-care responsibilities, and the environment of care is largely uncontrolled by staff and is not uniform. Organizations that provide home care typically must manage risks common to other healthcare providers, as well as those that arise because of the uniqueness of the setting.
