A Virginia jury has awarded more than $2 million to the family of a man who died after a missed dialysis appointment to treat his end-stage renal disease, according to an article in the August 2022 Medical Malpractice Verdicts, Settlements & Experts.
The resident, who lived at the assisted living facility because his family could no longer meet all of his care needs independently, required dialysis treatment three times per week.
