A member organization recently asked about liability regarding donating two old, uninhabitable single family houses on its campus to the local fire department for controlled fire exercises. The fire department would set small fires in different rooms of the houses and practice extinguishing them. The member's insurance carrier is aware of the plans and the fire department is covered under its own insurance policy.
