Ask ECRI: Policies for Recording Devices in Resident Rooms

​A risk manager recently asked for guidance in establishing policies for the use of cameras and other recording devices in the skilled nursing setting. The risk manager noted that the organization encounters people using such devices for many purposes, ranging from documentation of pressure injuries to interior or exterior security surveillance to so-called granny cams in resident rooms.
