ECRI Institute Experts Present on Health IT and Patient Safety at the IHI National Forum

Robert Giannini | Patricia Giuffrida

December 9, 2018

Overview

While the utilization of information technology (IT) has transformed healthcare, it also left hospitals and health systems open to new risks. Anticipating and mitigating the unintended consequences of developing and using health information technology (IT) must be the focus of a strong health IT safety program.

During the IHI National Forum, Robert Giannini, patient safety analyst and consultant at ECRI Institute, and Patricia Giuffrida, patient safety analyst and health information technology liaison at ECRI Institute, will lead a session titled Embedding Health IT Into Your Safety Program. In this session, the speakers will discuss ways to identify health IT as patient safety/risk management issues, strategies to develop, implement, and integrate health IT, and safe practice recommendations.

Visit the ECRI Institute booth during the IHI National Forum for information on how our experts can assist you with your patient safety needs.
