ECRI Institute Discusses Medical Device Cybersecurity at HIMSS Conference and Exhibition
Orlando, FL
February 14, 2019
Overview
Medical device software recalls and security notices are a growing challenge for healthcare information technology and clinical engineering departments. From identifying impacted assets to closing out field notices, both healthcare facilities and manufacturers struggle to manage their response to these notices. With limited resources, it is no easy feat to handle these new issues while minimizing the impact on patient care.
During a session titled Incoming! Medical Device Cybersecurity Alerts on the Rise at the HIMSS Conference, ECRI Institute’s healthcare cybersecurity experts will reveal trends in recall and security alerts uncovered in the organization’s proprietary recall management database. They will give tips and practical recommendations to help healthcare facilities manage this growing concern and explain why cybersecurity of medical devices has been number 1 on our Top 10 Health Technology Hazards list for the past two years.
