Conflict of Interest

ECRI Institute is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to benefit patient care by promoting the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness in healthcare. We accomplish our mission through our research, publications, education, and consultation.

Conflict of Interest—The Integrity of Independence

Remaining unbiased is difficult, if not impossible, when conflicts of interest are present. That is why we strictly enforce our conflict-of-interest rules and have carefully developed an environment that maximizes objectivity, productivity, and integrity of process. These rules have been in effect and enforced since 1971.

We accept no grants, gifts, finder’s fees, or consulting projects from medical device or pharmaceutical firms. Our employees are not permitted to own stock shares in these firms. To ensure compliance, we examine each employee’s federal income tax return after it is filed. And, we accept no advertising revenues from any source. See ECRI Institute's Conflict-of-Interest Policy.

No Commercialization

ECRI Institute accepts no advertising and does not permit use of its name or studies in advertising or for promotional purposes by medical device or pharmaceutical companies. Please advise of such policy violations so we may take appropriate action at
