
Benjamin Dai, MS, TOGAF

Benjamin Dai joined ECRI in September 2022 as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer. He has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in engineering and information technology at Fortune 100 companies across healthcare provider, payer, medical device, consumer product, and biomedical research industries.
Dai’s background is built on a foundation of global expertise ranging from health technology delivery and enterprise architecture to biomedical informatics, end-to-end software delivery, infrastructure, portfolio management, analytics, and all aspects of information technology (IT) leadership. Career highlights include the release of Bioportal (the most comprehensive repository of biomedical ontologies in the world) at Stanford, the first delivery of KP Advance Alert Monitor (an award-winning predictive analytics solution to reduce ICU patient mortality) at Kaiser Permanente, and the rationalization of Kaiser’s $900M operating technology portfolio through identifying strategic investments. Dai brings a focused interest to the intersection of technology, disruptive innovation, enterprise collaboration, and workforce wellness, all through the lens of transformation in the digital age.

He has a master’s degree in computer science from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He has attended Harvard University for executive education and has been published in several journals.
