With 45 years of healthcare experience, ECRI Institute understands medical devices like no other equipment planner. The New York Times called us “the country's most-respected laboratory for testing medical products" (April 23, 2002). With the world’s largest databases on emerging technologies, product specifications, hazards and recalls, user experience, clinical guidelines, standards, and regulations—we can give you the edge on what's needed from both technology and clinical viewpoints.
Our equipment planning staff draws on expertise throughout the organization’s
multi-disciplinary staff of nearly 400 full-time physicians, nurses, engineers, equipment analysts, architects, and planners.
Unlike other planners, ECRI Institute has no ties to manufacturers
Our strictly-enforced conflict of interest rules prohibit the organization and staff from accepting money or investing in medical device manufacturers. This ensures that our recommendations are independent and unbiased.
New and emerging technologies
ECRI Institute is the only equipment planner designated an Evidence-based Practice Center by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. We can give you insights into new technologies before the project is built, helping you put tomorrow’s technology into place today.
